CoachLab® Graduates, parents and friends
Ladies and gentlemen, good morning
It is my honor and a privilege to welcome you to CoachLab® and Green Learnership Graduation Ceremony and I am delighted that you were able to join us today.
Ladies and gentleman, we are gathered here this evening to celebrate the success of 26 CoachLab® and Green Learnership graduates; graduates who not more than a year ago were merely university students with no exposure to the working environment. I am very pleased that today they are all armed with more knowledge and skills to become active participants in the industry, with particular focus on ICT, green economy and the engineering sectors. These newly acquired skills will contribute immensely to the betterment of the South African economy and ultimately job creation.
Through CoachLab® and Green Learnership programme, The Innovation Hub has played a significant role in advancing expertise and building individual capabilities. These are key contributors to increase the competitiveness of Gauteng’s economy. To date, 393 graduates’ exposure to the working environment, which increased their chances of securing meaningful employment in industry.
Ladies and gentleman, we cannot achieve skills development goals working on our own. We need partnerships with the private sector and academia to enable us to bridge the gap between academic theory and practice. It is common knowledge that, you can have all the qualifications and theoretical knowledge in the world, but without experience, your prospects of finding sustainable and meaningful employment are limited.
Ladies and Gentleman, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the sponsors and academic partners who contributed money, time and other resources to empowering our graduates and grooming them for the working environment. Through our partnerships, the CoachLab® and Green Learnership programme will reach and improve the lives of our youth and accelerate their impact on their host organisations within Gauteng. May we continue working together to expand this programme and raise the caliber of students produced every year.
Once again, we commend all the graduates on their achievements and may they internalize and practice the knowledge gained for the betterment of our country’s economy. Go out there and fly The Innovation Hub flag high, make us proud!
I thank you.
