Our stakeholders in the innovation and Entrepreneurship ecosystem

Members of the media, a very good morning

I officially welcome you to The Innovation Hub, a subsidiary of the Gauteng Growth and Development Agency, strategically tasked with driving innovation and entrepreneurship in the Gauteng Province. We’re honoured that the BRICS delegates have set foot in the Africa’ first accredited science and technology, The Innovation Hub and that you considered us relevant to be a partner in hosting the event of this magnitude, the BRICS Youth forum, a platform that  unlocks opportunities for our  youth in the African continent  to be able to deliberate on   .  Partnership for Mutually Accelerated Growth, Sustainable Development and Multilateralism” underpinned in the South Africa’s BRICS 2023 Chairship.

We are proud to be collaborating with SABYA, NYDA and SACNASP to push the agenda of the youth as they will be discussing three of the five priorities underpinning South African Chairship, which include:

  • Unlocking Opportunities through the African Continental Free Trade Agreement
  • Transforming Education and Skills Development for the Future
  • Just Equitable Energy Transition: Sustainable Energy Generation and Security

Collaborations of this kind is crucial not only for the growth of our economies but for our SMMEs and will assist them in being able to compete globally. It is also imperative to note the importance of Innovation, as it is a fundamental source of significant wealth generation within an economy. I am certain that after the deliberation on these three days, our youth will be able to shape, come up with solutions and act on issues impacting their communities and the global landscape.  We constantly host events such as these, which allows our youth entrepreneurs to collaborate, and think creatively and utilise opportunities presented to be able to innovate to improve government and private service  delivery challenges  in Gauteng.

Opportunities  for the youth available at The Innovation Hub

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for joining us today. We look forward to   stimulating, robust panel discussions led up by Industry experts that will be taking place throughout the 3 days and therefore wish you a successful deliberation, let it be one of impact!!
