The Innovation Hub and its entrepreneurs have been headlining various media platforms for the work that they are doing to address either social, economic or environmental challenges faced by our nation and the world at large. From The Innovation Hub entrepreneurs scooping the most prestigious awards. We are proud and applaud all the entrepreneurs and colleagues for the contributions that they are making in the areas of innovation and entrepreneurship.

  1. Congratulations to Kusini Water, an entrepreneur incubated at Climate Innovation Centre South Africa on winning the ITU Telecom World Awards 2019 hosted in Budepest on  09-12 September 2019, they were recognised for their excellence in providing and promoting innovative solutions with social impact.


Kusini Water developed an industrial solar powered Polyvinyldene Difluoride (PVDF) filters for fully automated water treatment systems for use in water treatment within the African continent

Congratulations to Voice out Deaf, a female owned company incubated at eKasiLab Mohlakeng on winning the Gauteng Female Entrepreneur Award in Agriculture, MEC Special Award category and also for scooping the same category and taking home R100 000 prize on the National awards ceremony hosted by the Department of Agriculture, Forest and Fishery on the 29th of August 2019 in Cape Town for her vegetable production Farming.  

Voice Out Deaf, is an agricultural Farming business located in Westonaria, supported by eKasiLabs Mohlakeng. The business plants all sorts of vegetables for sale at local retailers and local communities. The business uses parts of its proceeds to support the deaf community. Some of the activities are the deaf language training, deaf awareness campaigns, 3D cartoon character for early child education, Emoji for SA sign language in social platform. The company is also involved in skills transfer in agriculture to benefit the deaf community.


 

Congratulations to Prof Shirley Motaung, founder of Global Health Biotech and entrepreneur incubated at BioPark@Gauteng on winning the Standard Bank Top Women in Science Awards
