Vuyiswa describes herself as a serial entrepreneur and a strategist who has built a successful career in fashion retail, marketing and events. She is often referred to as a maverick and a pioneer in her field after being one of the first clothing boutique owners in what is now the trendy “70 Juta” Braamfontein design district as well as more recently, co-founding Joburg’s first and most popular inner-city brunch events, “The WKND Social”.
Her most recent position entailed heading up sales and marketing for international African-born fashion start-up: KISUA. During her tenure, KISUA catapulted to success after being worn and embraced by global celebrities such as Beyoncé, Estelle, UrbanBushBabes, June Ambrose, Terry Pheto and many other local celebrities. KISUA was also featured in the New York Times, Huffington Post, WWD and many more. Vuyiswa brings her creativity, strategic outlook and entrepreneurial drive to her new role as CEO of SAIBPP as well as 10 years’ experience in sales, retail and marketing.
In her personal/professional capacity, Vuyiswa has been featured in or contributed to all the major local media publications, including but not limited to: Elle, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, The Times, Glamour, VISI, Sawubona, House and Leisure and Destiny magazines in which she was voted as one of Top 40 under 40 (2011).
Most recently she graced the cover of Get It Magazine, and was one of faces of the Bobby Brown “Pretty Powerful Campaign”, and is currently one of the nominees of the “Superbalist 100”. She hopes to spend the rest of her days being an inspiration to and making a difference in the lives of young women and Africans across the globe.
