On the 27 to 30 October, PeleBox, Maxum Smart Alumni had the opportunity to exhibit their Pelebox Smart Locker Innovation at Durban International Convention Centre on one of the biggest annual stages sponsored by State Information Technology Agency (SITA) government technology conference (GOVTECH 2019)
The 4IR calls on the future workforce to have specialised skills. Locally, government and private sector players have ramped up efforts to address the country’s digital skills gap, and this year’s GovTech had a particular focus on the next era of the digital revolution.
This award is presented to a project team or initiatives contributing to support the community with the aim to promote the rights and needs of groups; or to improve the wellbeing, quality of life and standard of living of the community with the ultimate intent to bridge the digital divide.
The award celebrated Pelebox as an innovation that has made a considerable difference in the community through ICT, or use of an ICT tool, or ICT-enabled services/solutions that promote and encourage the rights of the disadvantaged groups to adopt ICT as well as participate and contribute to the development of information society.
Thato Nqayi received the award on stage on behalf of the Pelebox Team at the Govtech SITA ICT Awards Gala Dinner hosted at the ICC Durban on Sunday, 27th October 2019.The Pelebox team shared their deepest gratitude for the support received from The Innovation Hub and the Maxum Team and for their support in enabling them to participate in this year’s event.
