FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Innovation Hub, in collaboration with Y20 South Africa, SABYA and SALGA to Host Y20 Africa Pre-Summit 2025: Themed “Association Youth Building Bridges for a Sustainable Future.”
Pretoria, Lynnwood, South Africa – The Innovation Hub (TIH), in collaboration with the Y20 South Africa, South African BRICS Youth (SABYA) and South African Local Government Association (SALGA), is proud to announce the Y20 Africa Pre-Summit 2025 set to take place on 18–19 June 2025 at The Innovation Hub’s conferencing venue in Pretoria.
To align youth perspectives on G20 priorities under the theme “Youth Building Bridges: Uniting for Solidarity, Championing Equality, Driving Sustainability,” the summit will bring together young leaders from G20, BRICS, and African nations to discuss critical issues such as climate action, digital innovation, economic inclusion, and youth policy reform.
Topics for the Y20 Africa Pre-Summit:
“This summit is a pivotal platform for young change-makers to influence policies that drive sustainability, foster innovation, and build future-proof, inclusive economies,” said Bangani Mpangalasane, CEO of The Innovation Hub.
The Y20 is a vital platform within the G20 framework that empowers youth from across G20 member states to engage in dialogue, share innovative ideas, and propose solutions to critical global challenges. This summit comes as the first Y20 gathering in Africa, and it aims to include voices from across the continent, amplifying youth perspectives in addressing global and regional challenges. Under the South African G20 Presidency theme of “Solidarity, Equality and Sustainability,” the Y20 Summit will gather youth delegates from G20 nations, regional representatives, and additional invited nations. The Y20 Summit will focus on five priority themes aligned with South Africa’s national deliverables, the African Union’s Agenda 2063, and the United Nations' 2030 Agenda — all of which reinforce South Africa’s commitment to social and economic development, as well as climate action.
