The Innovation Hub, an innovation agency of the Gauteng Province is pleased to announce that Kebalepile Technologies, Simplus Innovation and Lightbulb Education have been selected to participate in the EBAN Annual Congress 2017 to take place on the 7th to 9th of June in Malaga, Spain.

Lightbulb education, incubated at The Innovation Hub’s Maxum Business Incubator, is a learning management system which enables students to get direct assistance from subject matter experts and like-minded peer groups. Simplus Innovation, also incubated at The Innovation Hub, is an analytics translator software utilising data to close the gap between the business and technology teams through analytics, digital applications and flagship reporting platform. The software can translate analytics to information. Lastly, Kebalepile Technologies, incubated at The Innovation Hub’s BioPark Business Incubator, is a company that designed an electronic handheld medical device called the Asthma Grid. The Asthma Grid is an early warning system that predicts the threat of imminent asthma attacks.

We are proud of developing our entrepreneurs in all sectors that are contributing to a better life for African citizens through world-class innovations made in South Africa. We are also pleased that the Congress committee saw it fitting to select our entrepreneurs to participate at the Congress thus affording them an opportunity to present their innovations to angel investors - Mr McLean Sibanda, CEO of The Innovation Hub.

Each of these start-ups is contributing towards social development by way of knowledge-based innovation. For this reason, they are well deserving of the opportunity afforded to them by International Association of Science Parks (IASP) and EBAN.

The EBAN Annual Congress is one of Europe’s largest and most international business angel events held annually by EBAN in cooperation with its best members to be hosted by the City of Malaga and Promalaga in Spain.

The EBAN Annual Congress 2017 will draw a spring of new ideas and trends, bringing together the world’s most eminent business angels, entrepreneurs and opinion makers, and enabling networking and deal making with experts in the field.

The start- ups have been invited to an exclusive webinar and arrangements have been made for them to engage with the President of EBAN Candace Johnson as well as experienced business angel. While the start-ups may already have some experience on pitching to investors, we are confident that the insight that they will receive from Johnson will be immeasurable and will moreover afford them an incomparable competitive advantage.
