On Friday, 23 January 2009, Leo Haese, Hatfield treated The Innovation Hub to an exhibit featuring the 116i, 320d, the X3 and, of course, the luxurious 750i with its voice control feature and executive good looks.

It is Friday at The Hub and another opportunity to consider the question of transport. On 6 February 2009, The Innovation Hub took pleasure in viewing top of the range vehicles as exhibited by Chrysler Jeep Dodge Menlyn.
It is no surprise to find team member, Mr. Paul Bisogno, considering the various options and he is quick to point out that his choice falls upon the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The latest addition to the Hub’s 24,500m² 4-building property portfolio sees the development of a new 7,600m² multi-tenant building directly across from the existing plaza between the Innovation Centre and Enterprise Building 1.

The latest Innovation Hub community communications forum, Kgotla@Hub, was held on the 24th of June in the Auditorium of the conference centre. The forum is structured around informing tenants of the latest accomplishments and undertakings of The Hub, guidance on business opportunities and practices while also serving as a networking medium for tenants and guest speakers of the day.

The Innovation Hub took off to their team building exercise to Roode Vallei Country Lodge, on the banks of Pienaar’s River, north of Pretoria from the 28th to the 29th of August.

On the 19th of August 2008, 120 key business representatives teed off in style for a therapeutic round of golf at the Blue Valley Golf & Country Estate, Midrand, an 18th hole course designed by Gary Player himself. Hosted by The Innovation Hub, the atmosphere was relaxed, although the competitive “Better Ball Stableford: Scramble Drive” format of the game caused some jovial competition amongst the spirited teams.

On 4 August 2008, The Deputy Minister of the dti, Mrs Elizabeth Thabethe (Fourth from the left-bottom row), readily and generously gave her time to host and interact with visiting trainers from the USA and The Innovation Hub officials.

The Maxum Business Incubator has embarked on regional workshops for SA women in the ICT sector. These women include: those that already own an ICT related business and those interested in starting-up an ICT-enabled business.

The Innovation Centre at The Innovation Hub that houses the Maxum Business Incubator that has, since inception in 2000, supported the development of 30 companies, where 183 jobs have been created. Of these companies two have female ownership and six have at least 30% BEE ownership. The overall success rate of growing the start-ups to levels of self-sustainability where they can exit the Incubator has been 80 percent.
