Partnerships and Alliances

Our partnerships and alliances include:

• The Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality, where The Innovation Hub has been recognised as a Special Mayoral Project to support its positioning as a ‘smart city’ – reinforcing the branding of Gauteng as a ‘smart’ province.
• The Cape IT Initiative (CITI), a not-for-profit public-private partnership promoting the development of the knowledge economy in the Western Cape
• AfricaBio, with whom we have a strong working relationship, especially in stimulating new biotechnology enterprises and the links between the biotechnology and ICT sectors.
• Biopad, the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Centre in Gauteng, whose mission to stimulate R&D and its commercialisation is aligned to the Hub’s mission
• University of Pretoria, as a founder shareholder and now an active stakeholder in the Hub, with whom there are many areas of constructive linkages including to Hub tenants and the Management Company
• Universities and research organisations with whom we create links to provide easy access to our resident companies and stimulate spinout activity. Formal Memoranda of Understanding are in preparation with key institutions.
