PRECINCT TENANT NEWS:
RIIS Investigates the Possibility of a Management of Innovation Network
The Research Institute for Innovation and Sustainability (RIIS), a resident company at The Maxum Business Incubator at the Innovation Hub, co-hosted the first Innovation Summit, in collaboration with its strategic partners and the SA Innovator magazine in October 2008.
During this summit, the potential for the establishment of a Management of Innovation network was surveyed. RIIS has over the past few months started the process of conducting interviews with interested parties to obtain inputs and view points on the proposed innovation network.
In parallel with this, RIIS also designed and conducted the Innovation System Leadership Programme in collaboration with, and on behalf of COFISA. This was accomplished with inputs from experts locally and from Finland, on the subject matter.
During this programme a need was identified to establish networking opportunities that provide a platform for the sharing of best practices around innovation and innovation management. The intention is to create a network that:
Share best practices and benchmark innovation activities
Capture lessons learnt and case studies of South African examples of innovation and
Provide a platform for collaboration between innovation pioneers in South Africa
RIIS is currently speaking to various role players interested in being involved in such an initiative and is conducting interviews with companies and individuals around the topic.
“We would be interested in your opinion on the establishment of a Management of Innovation Network” says Henra Mayer, Director of RIIS.
Please contact RIIS on 012 844-0671 should you want to engage around the topic.
