Workshop on biotech cooperation between SA and Finland
On 22 February, BioSA (the association of South African Biotechnology SMEs) in partnership with COFISA (the Cooperation Framework between Finnish and South African Innovation Systems), presented a workshop on cooperation between the South African and Finnish biotech sectors.
This workshop, which was held at The Innovation Hub and attended by about 50 delegates, was aimed at preparing the Gauteng biotech sector for a high-level Finnish visit. The main topics discussed focused on the expansion and partnering opportunities for South African biotech companies in Finland.
As one of the top bio-economies in the world, Finland has much to offer South Africa. It was evident during the workshop that although the South African biotech sector is still in its infancy, it has the potential and the necessary drive to expand and succeed.
