Happening @ the Hub

Celebration of Women's Month

National Women's Day commemorates 9 August 1956 when women participating in a national march petitioned against pass laws which were restrictive to the African population and the growth of the country.

In celebration of those brave women, The Innovation Hub organised a get-together for all ladies on site to commemorate the courageous actions of our ancestors, and to consider how the female race and country have prospered as a result thereof.

Hub ladies where treated to an inspirational talk on "Why orangutans don't wear make-up and we do" by Dr Brenda Hattingh, Managing Director of the Centre for Power Intelligence. Dr Hattingh inspired women to take cognisance of their unique strengths as women, and to dig deep and take a record of decisions taken and re-aspire to their life-long goals and ambitions. The ultimate lesson learnt was we as human beings always have a choice and control our own destinies by the decisions and choices we make.

After the "food for thought", all were invited to have a light luncheon where ladies from the different resident companies could network and meet one another.

For additional information on workshops and similar talks by Dr Brenda Hattingh please visit her website.
