After spending time the CSIR and NRF earlier in the day, the Presidential entourage was welcomed by Hub CEO, Dr Neville Comins and the Hub's management team.
The visitors were presented with a brief overview of the Hub's progress and achievements since moving to it new site early in 2005. This was followed by visits to some of the tenant companies, where the President was exposed to science and technology R&D 'in action'.
The President's interaction with entrepreneurs, innovators and researchers included the AMTS FabLab as well as information and communications security solutions company Expertron and their innovative Cell Power prepaid electricity vending solution. The visitors also stopped off at SAPPI's Technology Center before concluding their visit.
