Marketing and Branding

The People Business Group presented their last seminar to residents at The Innovation Hub in October. This seminar focused on the ever-important topic of "Marketing and Branding your Business". Previous seminars, held throughout the year, covered issues such as Conflict Handling Skills and Business Acumen.

As always, the seminar presented by the People Business Group focused on group interaction and discussion, providing attendees with the opportunity to improve their understanding of business concepts and associate these concepts with real -time examples of practices that have been successful and those that have not, as shared by like-minded entrepreneurs.

Attendees were given an overview of how to plan and launch a cost-effective marketing and branding campaign. Topics included creating databases, networking, and effective media targeting.

The Innovation Hub residents again thoroughly enjoyed the learning experience and the opportunity to network with fellow residents and neighbours.

Residents split into groups to share their marketing experiences.

Residents focused on what the presenter had to share with them.

TIH Corporate Golf Day

The Innovation Hub held its inaugural Corporate Golf Day on 23 October at the Pebble Rock Golf Estate in Pretoria.

The aim of the day was to create an opportunity for like-minded individuals to network and have fun. Golfers on the day included representatives from the government, academic and private sectors, creating a diverse mix of four balls. We were excited to have CISCO Systems, NetCB, SRM Technologies, Spescom Data & Voice, Business Enterprises @ University of Pretoria, the dti - Savant, Hatfield VW, Telkom, Kreon Technologies, LA Promotions, ODC, Blue IQ, Standard Bank, Harvey World Travel and Beachcomber as sponsors for various holes.

The format for the day included an interesting twist - Pebble Rock's very own unique "Mystery Score". This caused some distress amongst the golfers when they hit a par 3 and had to double their scores. For others, it worked the other way around.

At the end of a splendid day, the golfers settled down for the prize giving and a hearty meal.

and they're off ...

Unfortunately for some, not too far.

Cheers to an excellent day!
