In the Spirit of Giving
Staff members of the Sappi Technology Centre, located at The Innovation Hub, entered into the spirit of Christmas by purchasing gifts for 19 physically and/or sexually abused children of the Help-Net Fund. A large amount of clothing was also handed to the Fund for distribution amongst the children.
The staff of the Help-Net Fund are ltr Jaco Meintjies (Chairman), Jaap Homan, Lena Homan, Corniela McDonald and Paul Roux.

Sappi's Karin Kruger, Diane Rose, Gavin Davies and Craig Werner attended the handover function at the end of November last year, where the children met them with great excitement. Karin told the children a wonderful story of how a man, with a beard and dressed in a red outfit, had arrived at the Technology Centre and realised he was lost, and that was why they were delivering the gifts. Gavin kept the children enthralled for an hour by making a balloon animal for each of them.
The ‘Help-Net Fund Places of Safety Project’ was established for children removed from their parents by social structures, such as the Child Protection Unit and the Children's Court, and placed in safe location. The Fund endeavours to provide a home environment for children in these houses during their transition period.
A big THANK-YOU to all Sappi Technology Centre staff that gave so generously.
