CoachLab™ on student recruitment drive

Members of the CoachLab™ class of 2005 at their graduation ceremony.

Members of the class of 2006 CoachLab™ students were all smiles as they prepared for their helicopter flight to take a look at the Hub precinct from the air.

Employees at the Maxum Business Incubator at the Hub have recently been involved in a recruitment drive at universities to create awareness amongst students about the Hub's unique CoachLab™ leadership skills development programme.

Now in its fifth year of operation, the CoachLab™ is run as a partnership between The Innovation Hub, tertiary education and industry partners to develop world-class human capital for the applied science and technology industry. The partners, respectively, provide the infrastructure and entrepreneurial environment, postgraduate candidates and technical expertise, and project work, mentorship, supervision and sponsorship.

The purpose of the recruitment drive has been to identify candidates for the 2007 calendar year. The recruitment team, consisting of Maxum's Chief Operating Officer, Martin Manmohan and Mape Modiba of EPI-USE (a CoachLab™ graduate from the class of 2005) with the postgraduate students currently participating in the CoachLab™, made a number of presentations to students at the University of Pretoria and both campuses for the Tshwane University of Technology (main campus and the Soshanguve campus).

More than 200 students attended the presentations, mostly those completing their undergraduate studies. The recruitment drive was extended electronically to students at UNISA, from where there has been exceptional interest in participation in the CoachLab™.

The Hub is looking forward to welcoming on board the class of 2007 early in the new year. For further details about participating in this unique programme, contact Martin Manmohan at (012) 844 0033 or visit the CoachLab™ website.
