SAP implementation partner and Business Intelligence specialist, Lejara Enterprise Solutions, has recently moved into The Innovation Hub. This award-winning company aims to use their new premises as a hub for the planned expansion of their operations into the international market. Their drive for innovation has resulted in Lejara being the recipient of the SAP Africa Innovation Award for two consecutive years.
Lejara is a midsized management consultancy, offering a broad range of business solutions. According to Director, Hannes Louw, the primary focus is on business intelligence (BI), which - in lay terms - is extracting knowledge, changing it into a meaningful interpretation, to enhance the common intelligence level of a business. Other focus areas include Corporate Performance Measurement, Integrated Planning & Controlling, Finance & Consolidations, Supply Chain Management and Systems Integration
Louw explains that as a SAP partner, the company's core business involves the implementation and customisation of SAP products to meet client-specific needs. What differentiates Lejara is the ability to take business solutions beyond integration towards innovative and practical outcomes that impel business value.
Lejara was formed in 2003 as part of a merger between EPI-USE Financials and Xihlovo Corporate Consulting and, according to Louw, their successes over the past three years are owed largely to its people. "We have attracted the best people in SAP consulting, and the main reason that we are where we are today is because of the team spirit that we've all built together", he says.
A more recent development has been the acquisition of majority interest in an Informational Management company giving them a major differentiator - the Science of Informational Management (ScIAM). "Our focus up till now was getting the right information in the right form to the right person in the right place at the right time and playing only in the SAP space", says Louw.
"By incorporating the ScIAM toolsets and methodologies we can now also assist our clients to know what information to gather, what to do with information when they get it and what information to pass on to others, as well as to know how to value the results - ultimately adding to their bottom line", he added
On their move to The Innovation Hub, Louw comments that they are very happy to be located in the precinct. "There are, of course, some growing pains that come with it, but we have been pleased with the way that the team have been sorting out the issues as they arise", he said. Louw also adds that the option of eventually buying premises on the precinct was a big 'draw card' and is one that the company will pursue.
The word "lejara" means front-runner and, with Clients ranging from the South African Revenue Service (SARS) and Transnet to BHP Billiton and De Beers, this company is definitely living up to its name. Louw says Lejara plans to take the concept even further by expanding internationally in the near future. "Our main focus at the moment is to finalise the integration of our back office systems which include implementing SAP internally. The structures for going international are already in place. It's really just a matter of time", he added.
