SkillsTrac launches HR management tool at the Hub

An online Performance and Competence Management solution, designed and developed by SkillsTrac - a participant in the maxum Business Incubator at The Innovation Hub in Pretoria - was launched at the Hub early in May this year. This product, called SkillsTrac™, is set to provide the local SME market with an affordable and easy to use application that will streamline performance management processes.

Seen at the launch were (ltr) SkillsTrac representatives Wendy Mogale and Dr Annelize Pretorius, Bongani Qokose from the GEP, Mike van der Walt, Managing Director of Telezer0 and Gopolang Setumo from the maxum Business Incubator.

Attendees at the SkillsTrac mini seminar on integrated performance management - during which the team launched their new product - were unanimous in their assessment that the product is set to fill a definite gap within the SME market by providing a cost-effective and hassle-free online solution for performance and competence monitoring.

The company was the first tenant at the Hub to receive a grant from the Gauteng Enterprise Propeller for the purpose of marketing their product.

The application is Internet-based and easy to use. It allows companies to create or customise job profiles and develop performance agreements, capture regular performance and competence assessment results against individual performance agreements and generate employee, management and compliance reports. It can also systematically identify and prioritise competence gaps and monitor effectiveness of interventions to improve performance.

According to the developers, Dr Annelize Pretorius and Helene de Ridder, the product was specifically designed for the local skills development environment and will update legal compliance with changing regulatory requirements at no extra costs. As the most affordable web-based application of its kind in the local market, the application - hosted off-site - enables users to avoid expensive connectivity and system set-up costs and pay only for what they use. The system is firewalled and data security, confidentiality, reliability and full disaster recovery capability are guaranteed.
