Members of the Hub's INNOV8 'intelligent community' gathered twice in February to participate in high-tech business networking events.
First up at the beginning of the month was the Modfin Basic Tax Principles Seminar - the fourth in the Modfin seminar series - courtesy of leading financial services company, Modfin Systems (Pty) Ltd, one of the Hub's Knowledge Partners.
The Modfin series provides practical financial advice, support, tips and mentorship to the fast-growing companies that make up the Hub community. The next seminar in this series - focusing on Basic Company Law - will take place on 8 March. If you are already a member of the INNOV8 community and would like to take advantage of this value-added service, please contact Lindsay Prescott on (012) 844 0026.
This was followed later in the month with a P•O•W•E•R Breakfast business networking event, which built on a popular theme in our series focusing on "Internationalising your High-Tech Business".
To support our high-growth companies, we invited representatives from the high-tech sector in the US states of Florida and Illinois to talk about practical ways in which they can assist your company to take the first steps into their respective markets through activities such as supported trade missions. The breakfast featured Tongila Manly of Enterprise Florida, who presented information on an upcoming high-tech trade mission to Florida focusing specifically on ICT, biotechnology, food and beverage and medical products companies; as well as Monica Stewart of the Illinois Trade Office, who discussed opportunities for biotech-related companies in an upcoming trade mission to Chicago Biotech 2006. Both of these events were exclusively for members of the Hub's INNOV8 high-tech, knowledge-intensive community. If you are not yet part of the INNOV8 community initiative, but would like to benefit from these value-adding opportunities and/or participate in our business networking and other events, contact us or visit Value-Added Services on our website for further information.
