Hub's INNOV8 Community Leads the Way at "Innovation & Sustainability Awards 2005"

The Innovation Hub's INNOV8 community initiative has confirmed its leadership position as South Africa's premier high-tech and knowledge-intensive "intelligent community" network!

At a recent banquet held at the Kyalami Castle to announce the winners of the "Innovation & Sustainability Awards For 2005" a number of INNOV8-ees walked away with top nominations.

INNOV8-ee Finalists included: Digital Mall; DBIT Management Systems; The Centre for Power Intelligence; Hazleton Pumps; Blue Catalyst; I-Slices Innovations; JuSTick; Knowledge Management International; and Cozy Comfys.

The most outstanding achiever, however, was Annemie Fourie of Handle Hands Manufacturing, who ended up as the overall winner in the category: "Excellence in Innovation & Sustainability: Economic (non-ICT)".

Handle Hands Manufacturing (Pty) Ltd is an innovative local company based just around the corner from The Innovation Hub in Pretoria. It was in 2000 that INNOV8-ee Annemie decided to take her idea of a universal clip-on handle further. Four years later- mission completed! Handle Hands® was invented, patented, developed and introduced to countries around the globe. To see Annemie herself in action in a 4 minute promotional video, click here.

Our congratulations to all members of the INNOV8 community who made their mark in this year's competition.
