The Innovation Hub Hosts Software Freedom Day 2005

The Innovation Hub, in conjunction with Enterprise Building tenant company, AgileWorks hosted the Pretoria celebrations of international Software Freedom Day on 10 September.

Software Freedom Day (SFD) is a global grassroots effort to promote the use of Free and Open Source Software. Over 200 international "teams" joined the celebration, organising a range of events at schools, universities, parks and public places. The Pretoria "team" was co-ordinated by Karl Fischer of Agileworks.

In addition to lectures, presentations and demonstrations, SFD was characterized by the participation of a number of Hub tenants, displays and various give-aways. The lead sponsor of SFD at the Hub was Novell.
