Newly resident in the Enterprise Building at the Hub, Custom Nutrition Technologies (CNT), offers health promoting nutritional analyses that identify and treat cellular dysfunction through a personalised rehabilitation programme with nutritional supplements.

The idea for Custom Nutrition Technologies came from CEO, Dr Susan Lehmann, while she was a researcher at the then Pretoria Technikon (now the Tshwane University for Technology). Since the company's registration in 2003, CNT has created a product portfolio of over twenty different nutritional supplements and other health-related products.

With a product range directed at rectifying dysfunctions ranging from chronic fatigue and pH imbalances to learning disabilities, CNT prides itself on its ability to offer clients targeted scientific analyses and assessments that result in highly personalised nutritional solutions. Working closely with the Universities of Pretoria and Potchefstroom, the company has developed supplements that are already being used by top South African sports stars, including track athlete, Geraldine Pillay.

Expressing her excitement at the move to the Hub campus, Dr Lehmann is looking forward to integrating the company into this vibrant community. "The presence of all these entrepreneurs provides a very stimulating environment from within which to operate", she says. The company's Medical Technologist, Jacques Theron adds that, "This location provides all the companies with great opportunities to learn from each other".

The company's expertise includes competencies in biochemistry, biotechnology, physical training and biomedical technology. The combined efforts of innovative minds have led to the development of CNT's Ultimate Performance supplement. The product provides energy far beyond that of traditional supplements on the market. Its special formulation allows for a longer lasting effect, providing users with more sustainable energy levels.

According to Operations Director at CNT, James Lehmann, being located at The Innovation Hub will afford the company access to businesses abroad and open up global markets to their world-class offerings. Theron points to the body of intellectual property that has resulted from the company's dedicated research and scientific focus as a major factor that will stand it in good stead for expansion into new markets. "Our advantage lies in the fact that nobody else is doing what we are doing", he said.
