At the beginning of July this year a senior delegation from the Shanghai Caohejing High-Tech Park in China visited the Hub to explore areas of collaboration. The group included the Park's Vice-President Mr Ling Jiaju, Business Centre General Manager Mr Ji Xinming, Customer Centre Vice-Director Mr Ma Zhigang and Project Manager Ms Wu Ying.
Hub Corporate Affairs Manager Tsietsi Maleho introduced the group to activities at the Hub and discussed synergies, Science Park challenges and possible areas of collaboration with them, after which they met with Hub CEO Dr Neville Comins.
The group was also taken on a tour of the Hub precinct and paid a visit to the maxum Business Incubator, interacting with some of the start-ups currently participating in the incubation programmes. They were impressed with the sophistication of the technologies being developed by these early stage companies, some of which have been commercialised and could impact global markets.
According to Tsietsi Maleho, as one of the world's young Science Parks the Hub benefits significantly from interactions with well-established peer organisations in its continuous improvement drive. The relationships established through receiving such delegations and the benefits that will accrue from future collaboration, such as opening up access to international expertise, adds great value to the Hub's offering to its clients.
