Dynamic South African venture capital firm, Triumph Venture Capital, has started its free consulting services at The Innovation Hub's new campus. These sessions are designed to support the efforts of high-tech innovators and entrepreneurs who are residents at the Hub or members of the Hub's INNOV8 high-tech community.

A specific focus of this partnership will be to assist entrepreneurially driven South African companies to develop and exploit their intellectual resources through the provision of venture capital financing.

Through its Know-How Network initiative, The Innovation Hub provides a unique "one-stop" facility for entrepreneurial and high-growth technology companies in South Africa, connecting them with an extensive range of essential business services and skills to be able to respond effectively to the particular challenges of their business and social environment. Members of the Know-How Network, who generously provide additional support to the efforts of innovators and entrepreneurs, are known as the Hub's Knowledge Partners.

Triumph CEO, Wellington Chadehumbe, says that he believes that stimulating the development and commercialisation of high value products will strengthen South Africa's competitiveness. "Growth through innovation will benefit South Africans to a far greater extent than exploiting its natural resources," he argues.

Wellington firmly believes that investing in high-risk knowledge-intensive companies can generate competitive returns, and that this should be done by investing in a combination of both established medium-sized companies as well as in start-up ventures.

The Innovation Hub strongly endorses this entrepreneurial vision, which is particularly important in today's knowledge economy, where the most valuable assets are often ideas and intangible concepts, as well as Triumph Venture Capital's mission to facilitate sustainable and innovation-driven growth by investing financial and human capital in South African businesses with international expansion potential.

In terms of their partnership with the Hub, Triumph Venture Capital will provide free advice and consultations to resident companies at The Innovation Hub as well as to members of the Hub's high-tech INNOV8 community. This service is being provided without obligation, by a member of Triumph's professional and experienced team who will be resident at the Hub on the last Tuesday morning of every month between 8:00 and 12:00. The first session will take place on Tuesday, 30 August.

If you are already a member of the INNOV8 community and wish to take advantage of this opportunity to discuss your financing options or business ideas, or simply for a view on your options, please book a slot via Annie Lopes on (012) 844 0000.

If you are not yet part of The Innovation Hub's INNOV8 community, but would like to benefit from such value-adding opportunities or participate in business networking and other events, please e-mail us or visit Value-Added Services for further information.
