April was a busy month for the maxum Business Incubator at the Hub. In addition to a number of local visits, they hosted a delegation from African countries and participated in a workshop on the commercialisation of technology.
The Africa delegation was on an incubation study tour of South Africa and included representatives from Uganda, Senegal and Kenya. The purpose of their visit was to learn more about incubation in South Africa and local best practice in this field. Their visit to maxum early in April consisted of a presentation on the activities and operation of the Business Incubator as well as the activities at the Hub, and included a tour of the precinct.
And not long after that, a training team from the US-based National Business Incubation Association (NBIA), the international incubation association, also spent time in the country to present a workshop on technology commercialisation. Jill Sawers, Manager: maxum Business Incubation and Sugie Dhaver, Operations Manager attended the workshop, which was facilitated by BTI and sponsored by GODISA.
