Hub's event programme adding value and building networks
Since "well-informed urban innovators" - members of The Innovation Hub's INNOV8 high-tech and knowledge-intensive community - gathered in February 2005 for the first Pub@Hub business networking evening ever to take place at the Hub's new Pretoria campus, a number of other events have been held at the Hub precinct.

First up was a P•O•W•E•R early in March with Mike Gourlay, Executive Director of Think London. Mike's presentation discussed business opportunities in the UK and Europe, with a special focus on the ICT sector; the benefits of basing one's UK or European headquarters in London, and the value your organisation can derive from engaging with Think London. Think London is the official inward investment agency of London.

This was followed on 15 March with a Forum Event - a seriously educational "partnered" business and networking opportunity, which was presented in collaboration with the SABS Design Institute. The event featured international guest speaker Marcelo Aflalo, Professor of Urban Visual Identity, São Paulo, Brazil. Marcelo discussed his design projects and gave his views on industrial design in Brazil. He also touched on similarities with South Africa, with particular reference to high technology in a predominantly developing economy.
