Enhancing South Africa's innovative business culture

Anton Botha of TechnoScene presenting one of the Innovation Workshops.

The Innovation Hub has just launched a ground-breaking South African Innovation Survey. As the only internationally-accredited Science Park in Africa, The Innovation Hub is a key player in enhancing South Africa's innovation strategies and innovative business culture. Many of our existing value-added services are designed to do just this.

To play a more meaningful role in this regard it is necessary for the Hub to better understand the local innovation landscape, as well as the range of innovation services currently available. This will allow us to tailor specific offerings that best meet market demand and add maximum value to members of the Hub's high-tech community.

Readers of NewsBits are invited to take a few moments to participate in our just-launched web-based Innovation Survey which is being conducted in conjunction with TechnoScene - one of the Hub's Knowledge Partners.

After completing the questionnaire, all you need do is select "Submit", and your data will be electronically captured. (All information will be treated strictly confidentially, and no particulars relating either to you or your organisation will be disclosed in the survey results, which will analyse trends only.)

To complete the survey questionnaire, please go to
www.technoscene.co.za/innovationservices

The survey results will assist the Hub to develop and offer a full suite of innovation services that will be made available to companies such as your own, as well as to members of the broader community.

When completing the survey, we suggest that you think of innovation in its most simplistic form, namely "taking new and/or existing concepts and combining them in such a way that they deliver new value to the user". Innovation could thus be applied to technology, products, services, processes, markets, organisations, management, etc. An innovation service should be thought of as "enabling an innovator to enhance innovation".

Each person who completes the survey will be invited to attend a launch event at which the results and findings will be presented. In addition, the survey has been structured in such a way that you can use it as an audit of the innovative environment in your own organisation by comparing your inputs with the results. This means that you can easily benchmark the state of innovation in your own company - irrespective of size.

In addition our survey partner, TechnoScene, is offering a generous prize of a two-day internal Innovation Workshop for your company. To find out more about the Innovation Workshops offered by TechnoScene, see www.technoscene.co.za/innovationworkshops

And as if all of that was not enough - the Hub will itself be offering an incredible prize to one "lucky draw" winner who completes the questionnaire!
