The maxum Business Incubator at The Innovation Hub has been interacting with potential entrepreneurs through its outreach programme to spread the word about the value of incubation.
The maxum team manned an exhibition at the Science Marketing Conference, arranged by the Department of Engineering and Technology Management. This was followed by an exhibition at the Tshwane University of Technology's Shoshanguve campus were graduates were exposed to The Innovation Hub's CoachLab Programme, a skills development initiative in partnership with tertiary institutions and industry to help postgraduates develop their business skills.
The team also participated in a Project Fair 2005 held at the University of Pretoria and hosted by its Department of Computer Science, where maxum sponsored a prize for the "most viable business opportunity".
"Our purpose is to let would-be entrepreneurs know that we exist and can help them as they start a technology innovative business," says Sawers. "The more we're out there, the more accessible we become."
