New kid on the block eyes hotspots

Newly arrived to join the Business Incubator at The Innovation Hub, Defiance Technologies (Pty) Ltd plans to put hotspots under the spotlight. Their aim in doing so is to significantly increase access to information for local mobile workers.

A total IT solutions provider, Defiance Technologies specialises in wireless technologies. "We believe that South African companies are following the international trend of moving towards wireless networks with hotspots, providing constant information and business access to the mobile worker", indicates MD, Alan Bucke.

As a result, Defiance has been developing hotspot management software that regulates and protects hotspot usage. The software is easy to customise and offers various features, such as security options and an adjustable billing system. According to Alan, the only comparable software of this nature currently available is tremendously expensive and rigid international offerings.

Defiance team members are excited about benefiting from the community of companies and expertise housed within The Innovation Hub, and look forward to accessing the information, services and opportunities on offer.
