Partnership with CISCO set to benefit start-up at the Hub
A strategic partnership between CISCO Systems and The Innovation Hub is set to benefit resident companies at the Hub. The partnership flows from a commitment by both parties to support the role of start-ups in developing new technologies and the need for entrepreneurs to stay abreast of emerging technologies in this development process.
Numerous new, innovative and exciting technologies enter the market every day. Entrepreneurs need to pay a great deal of attention to the impact of these technologies on their operations. This is no easy task, and one that requires a great deal of work and attention.
The Innovation Hub invited Vaughan Baptiste, Corporate Account Manager for CISCO Systems to present the company's emerging technologies to the companies resident at the Hub.
His presentation highlighted topics such as routing and switching, voice and video solutions, wireless solutions, storage area networking, and security and content delivery networking, a paperless society as a current reality rather than a future concept, and the technological potential of IP telephony and mobile access routers where also discussed.
CISCO System's instrumental role in assisting start-up companies is demonstrated by their donation of equipment to The Innovation Hub for the resident companies to experiment with new applications using CISCO Systems hardware. They have also committed to assist with the CoachLab - a leadership programme initiated by The Innovation Hub that brings postgraduate students in contact with industrial partners with specific technology needs.
The Innovation Hub looks forward to bringing the advantages of this partnership to all companies involved in its programmes.
