Experiencing the benefits of business networking

On Thursday, 05 February, members of The Innovation Hub's INNOV8 high-tech community participated enthusiastically in the latest P•O•W•E•R Breakfast event.

Limited to an audience of 50, this event received just on 200 positive responses - demonstrating that members of the community clearly understand that the New Economy is all about the power of networks and networking - and value the benefits that come from human connectivity and collaboration.

Dr Neville Comins, CEO of The Innovation Hub Management Company (Pty) Ltd, seen here with guest speaker, Harald Horgen, President of The York Group in France and Francois Triegaardt, the Regional Manager for The York Group in South Africa.

This particular P•O•W•E•R Breakfast featured international guest speaker, Paris-based Harald Horgen, CEO of The York Group, whose talk on Going Global - How to sell your product successfully and avoid mistakes when expanding internationally, provided a fascinating perspective on the challenges that face companies that want to go international, or that have gone international without achieving the success that their technology deserves. His fast-paced, informative talk considered topics such as: Why companies should go international; Questions a company should ask before going international; Developing an international strategy; and Different ways a company can go international.

The York Group is a US corporation with its operational headquarters in France and international offices in twenty countries. It has been successfully building international sales channels for companies since 1993 for clients such as Dell, Intuit and WinZip, as well as for small and emerging firms in Australia, France, the UK, Norway and Italy.

P•O•W•E•R Breakfast sessions are intended for those who unashamedly operate at the edge of technological progress and believe that in a 21st Century economy, information, ideas and technology are more important than physical assets. Through these events The Innovation Hub has created an interactive setting that facilitates exchanging information and identifying promising emerging ideas and technologies that strengths links between business and funding opportunities and support learning opportunities from dissimilar partnerships.
