HUB associate company develops niche market application

Another 'mobile based' solution is to be developed by eSay Programming cc, a UK-based company that decided to establish a research and development centre in South Africa at The Innovation Hub in Pretoria (see previous article in NewsBits).

Based in Bolton, Greater Manchester in Northwest England, the company is a software consultancy that is now diversifying into writing specialised niche market applications especially for mobile platforms.

eSay Programming cc has been chosen to develop an exciting new parcel tracking application that will record signature receipts in real-time. Developed on the handheld SYMBOL device, it is the first GPRS application of its kind.

The project heralds a first for eDirect, suppliers of IT & Telecom based services for business. Established in 1999, the company is already recognised as a premium IT support & business communications provider.

eSAY will be working with eDirect to design and develop an ingenious Internet based method that tracks parcels, so that customers and companies know each parcel's location in real-time. eSAY's task is to develop the system to operate on SYMBOL mobile devices, as well as an Internet based solution that operates on standalone PC's.

The new solution will be the first commercial project using GPRS technology operating on a SYMBOL device. eSAY are excited about the new project and look forward to working with eDirect.
