The power of high-tech business networking
Another successful P•O•W•E•R Breakfast held at The Innovation Hub recently, again brought together an interesting and diverse group of business people who are actively participating in the Hub's INNOV8 community.
INNOV8 is an informal high-tech community of friends, supporters and participants that make up the extended family of The Innovation Hub, and is rapidly establishing itself as South Africa's premier hi-tech community initiative.

The P•O•W•E•R Breakfast sessions bring together high-tech entrepreneurs, innovators and decision makers operating at the edge of technological progress and understand that the power of networks and networking is what drives the knowledge economy.
Guest speaker Michael Gourlay, Executive Director (Asia Pacific & Africa) of London First Centre provided a valuable perspective on accessing international markets. London today is the leading European destination for high technology inward investment, and one of the world's pre-eminent business centres, where one third of the world's largest companies have chosen to locate their European headquarters.
In turn, London First Centre (LFC) is the inward investment agency assisting businesses worldwide in setting up in London. The company has assisted over 620 companies from 35 countries to locate to or expand in London and has a strong track record of assisting specifically information, technology and communications companies.
He outlined business opportunities in the UK and Europe, with a special focus on the IT industry and the benefits of basing your UK or European operations in London. He also explained the role of local Regional Development agencies and the way in which they provide free and confidential assistance to inward investors from overseas.
