International virtual reality collaboration
The Naledi3D Factory, a tenant in the pilot business incubator at The Innovation Hub, and Swedish-based Infotiv Visual Technologies have signed a memorandum of understanding that paves the way for exciting visual reality and 3D content development in Africa and Europe. The initiative will focus on joint projects in vocational and industrial training, heritage and culture.
Regional liaison on ICT in African schools
Kgatelopele Technologies managing director Thabo Mogaswa, recently attended the SchoolNet Africa workshop in Botswana. The workshop, organised by the Commonwealth of Learning, the International Institute for Communication and Development, the World Bank and SchoolNet Africa, attracted educators, ICT practitioners and policy makers from across the region to share insights and find solutions to improving the status and capacity of ICT in African schools.
Looking at a Science Park for Botswana
Representatives from the Botswana Technology Centre recently visited The Innovation Hub and spent time with the management team and some of the companies participating the pilot business incubator and pre-incubation programme to learn more about the development of a Science Park.
Hub hosts visitors from Nigeria
Delegates from the corporate IT sector in Nigeria attending a seminar in Johannesburg that was organised by Imperial Computers Nigeria and Dataquest South Africa, recently visited The Innovation Hub to gain a better understanding of technology trends in South Africa and explore investment opportunities in the country.

The Swedish-funded Innovations for Development in Eastern and Southern Africa (IDESA) project that encourages an innovative entrepreneurial spirit in Africa, recently launched its Challenge Award for Invention and Innovation in South Africa.
