Building a community for creators of the future
Feedback from Martin Yuill, Enterprise Support and Networking Manager at The Innovation Hub
Members of the (now prestigious) INNOV8 community recently gathered at the Hub for another networking evening, which again brought together leading lights of the local Innovation, Knowledge and Expertise Economy.
The consensus view among those who attended is that these events offer excellent value as networking opportunities within the local high-tech sectors.
Eager-to-do-business high-tech role-players from big companies and small start-ups interacted with venture capitalists and leaders in the local knowledge economy industries.
Real business "success stories", ranging from actual business conducted to the establishment of beneficial business relationships, have resulted from these evenings - proving without doubt that the Hub's INNOV8 community is becoming a place "where winning business connects" and innovators and entrepreneurs interact with industry leaders and technology sector "movers and shakers".
Guest speaker Willie Nortier, Manager at Business Partners, a specialist investment group, spoke about wealth generation, job creation and economic development by investing capital, skills and knowledge into viable entrepreneurial enterprises. Generous prizes sponsored by Business Partners and the Zulu Nyala Group added lustre to the evening.
