Land development for The Innovation Hub approved
The Development Facilitation Act (DFA) Tribunal Report, released recently, recorded a Record of Decision approving the development of The Innovation Hub as a science and technology park on a part of the University of Pretoria's experimental farm adjacent to the N1 highway. The existing land use on the rest of the experimental farm is not in any way affected by this application and will remain exactly as it is currently being utilised. Read more

A consulting engineering services company that develops specialist products is the latest addition to The Innovation Hub's family of pre-incubator companies. Africa South Technologies develops new materials and products and optimises and improves new products for local use. Read more

Is Virtual Reality becoming a popular educational tool in Africa?
Representatives from The Naledi3d Factory recently visited Ethiopia to collect material for a virtual reality HIV/AIDS awareness project and Uganda to conduct surveys to promote virtual reality as an educational tool. Read more

ElectroSoft, one of the first companies to join the pilot business incubator at The Innovation Hub, recently joined Des-Pro Technology and retains its association with the Hub. Read more

Making BEE a win-win business proposition
An executive forum run by ITWeb and Wipcapital to look at the status of black economic empowerment (BEE) in the South African IT industry will be held in Johannesburg on 26 February 2003. The forum will identify strategies to embrace BEE and help IT companies understand the rules of transformation.
