Adding value to telecommunications technology
Delivering on its commitment to provide value-added services, VAS-Tech [Pty] Ltd, one of the start-up companies in the pilot incubator The Innovation Hub, recently successfully concluded a contract in Asia Pacific.
VAS-Tech supplies a recording centre product suite consisting of hardware and software. The product is used by government law enforcement agencies to combat crime. In conjunction with this, VAS-Tech has signed an international distributor agreement with Spescom DataVoice for the distribution of its range of computer-based digital recording equipment commonly used in call centers to record customer interaction with call center agents.
VAS-Tech is focused on value-added services for telecommunication networks, particularly network-based recording. By drawing from the products, skills and solutions provided by various local companies, VAS-Tech - founded in 1999 - is now positioning itself as a systems house for value-added services on communication networks.

CEO of VAS-Tech, Frans Dreyer |
"We joined the pilot Incubator at The Innovation Hub in November 2000 and our company has benefited greatly from the infrastructure and the support provided by The Innovation Hub," according to VAS-Tech CEO Frans Dreyer.
There is significant interest internationally in VAS-Tech's products, particularly from countries in Africa, the Middle East and the Asia Pacific regions. "A recent highlight has been the completion of a multi-million Rand contract with a country in the Asia Pacific region to upgrade existing systems and expand capacity. We are really excited about all these recent developments," said Dreyer.
