French are amongst world leaders in Science Park development
| There are 16 Science Parks/ Technopoles in France that are registered as full members of the International Association of Science Parks (IASP). The Hub is one of two registered members in South Africa. |
Representatives of the French Embassy in South Africa recently paid a visit to The Innovation Hub to share information about the development of Science Parks. As world leaders in this area, the French have excellent Science Park facilities, such as the Angers Technopole in the Loire Valley, the Europôle in Marseille and Atlanpole, the Nantes Atlantique Technopole and Business Incubator (site information in French) in the south of France.
One of the visitors, Mr Pierre Abeillé, is the Director of FSATIE, the French/SA Technical Institute in Electronics, a joint initiative between France and South Africa to enhance technology development and entrepreneurship.
The visit provided an opportunity to exchange ideas and explore French participation in Hub initiatives. The Hub hopes to reciprocate with a visit to France later in the year.
