INNOV8 Network Community
As South Africa's premier high-tech and knowledge-intensive community network, INNOV8 members participate in an influential network of knowledge economy role players, including academics, researchers, investors, financiers, business professionals and entrepreneurs.
Innov8 creates opportunities to share ideas and problem-solving processes and draws on the combined talents of people with common interests, goals and activities. Every second month this large community is invited to listen to a relevant and interesting talk by an invited guest or number of guests.
TIHMC hosted two successful Innov8 events in the third quarter of 2011. "Demystifying Intellectual Property" hosted on 13 July 2011, was directed at empowering the stakeholders to effectively deal with intellectual property issues. A panel of seven subject matter experts shared their experiences and different perspectives on IP and business with the attendees.
The second event "Bridging the funding gap" held on 12 August 2011, saw five panellists from the IDC, SPII, Edge Growth Fund, GEP and TIA, share with the attendees, information on their respective organisations' funding offerings and also how to ensure that they have fundable business plans.
