Climate Innovation Centre South Africa

The Green Economy refers to the growing economic activities such as investments, job creation and global competitiveness associated with cleaner industries that have a low impact on the environment. A measurable impact made on the socio-economy through creating ‘green’ jobs, minimising the environmental pollution and degradation, global warming and resource depletion.

The Climate Innovation Centre South Africa is our strategic Green Economy initiative to achieve sustainable growth and sustainable job creation which aligns to the overall strategic goal of the Gauteng Green Economy Strategy.

Located at the BioPark@Gauteng, the design of the Climate Innovation Centre South Africa is based on the model developed by infoDev’s Climate Technology Program - a division of the World Bank. Tailored for the South African context; Climate Innovation Centre South Africa offers financial assistance, business advisory services and other services to help South African clean-tech entrepreneurs pro-actively – and profitably – develop advanced climate smart technologies that meet local needs.
