    • 3 November 2004: Forum Event
      The second in the "Forum Event" programme of occasional "partnered" business and networking opportunities took place in collaboration with the SABS Design Institute. The event featured acclaimed international guest speaker, Don Ryun Chang, Professor of Branding and Design Management at Hongik University in Seoul, South Korea, who spoke the topic: "Design Management in the Era of Digital Convergence". The prize sponsor for the "lucky draw" of the evening was FuTioN, one of the Hub's Knowledge Partners.

    • 28 October 2004: SevN Days
      "Day Five" in the SevN Days programme of interactive business seminars focused on "Business Continuity, Alignment and Quality Control". This selected topic interactively explored the value of internal alignment for business development and growth. It considered how this quality carries a company in times of crisis; while investigating business continuity planning in times of various types of crises.

    • 5 October 2004: Property Brokers Launch Event
      The Innovation Hub Science Park was officially launched to members of the local property broking community. Confirming its position both as Africa's only internationally accredited Science Park, as well as South Africa's premier high-tech cluster, the launch of The Innovation Hub has been the "talk of the town" among the property industry.

    • 4-7 October 2004: SAITEX
      The Innovation Hub and Tshwane Metro partnered from 4 - 7 October 2004 to showcase Africa's first internationally-accredited Science Park at SAITEX 2004 at Gallagher Estate in Midrand.

    • 16 September 2004: P•O•W•E•R Breakfast
      "P•O•W•E•R Breakfast" business networking event with guest speaker Jacky du Plessis, an "Issues Management" Consultant at DKA Consulting. Jacky spoke on the topic: "Image Does Count! Sales, Profitability and Growth depend more and more on Reputation". The short talk was followed by a Q&A session and lively "open discussion". DKA Consulting is a unique South African "issues management" consulting firm.

    • 9 September 2004: SevN Days
      "Day Four" in the SevN Days programme of interactive business seminars focused on "Forecasting and Technological Evolution". This selected topic was designed to ensure that companies - both existing and emerging - are actively thinking about, and adequately planning for, the future.

    • 24 August 2004: The Innovation Hub Roof Wetting
      The Innovation Hub celebrated the Roof Wetting of its two core buildings with Gauteng MEC, Paul Mashatile, and a host of invited dignataries and future tenants. Barely ten months since construction started in October 2003, the infrastructure development for The Innovation Hub is firmly on track: including for the 12 500 m2 Innovation Centre and multi-tenant Enterprise Building.

    • 21 July 2004: Forum Event
      The launch of the "Forum Event" programme of occasional "partnered" business and networking opportunities took place. Specifically designed to both bring together, and add value to, the local design and high-tech/knowledge-intensive communities, The Innovation Hub partnered with the SABS Design Institute to launch this exciting new initiative. The event featured international guest speaker, Satish Gokhale, Director of Design Directions, a leading multi-disciplinary design company. His talk discussed how industrial design is a strategic resource for a company, where the right design represents a decisive factor when a new product - especially a high-tech product - enters the market. The prize sponsors for the "lucky draw" of the evening were FuTioN and Legacy Hotel's Centurion Lake Hotel.

    • 24 June 2004: The Innovation Hub featured on "Techno Focus" on SABC TV3
      The Innovation Hub featured in a profile slot on "Techno Focus" on SABC's TV3, which was aired at 13:00 and 22:00.

    • 14 June 2004: SevN Days
      "Day Three" in the SevN Days programme of interactive business seminars focused on the issues of "Company Funding, Shareholding and Contracts". This seminar was designed to explore various legal forms of business, and how they relate to business funding options and shareholding arrangements.

    • 13 May 2004: SevN Days
      The second event in the SevN Days programme of interactive business seminars focused on the issues of "Company Policy and Practice and Organisational Structure". The SevN Days programme is hosted in conjunction with FuTioN as a free valued-added service for members of the INNOV8 community.

    • 29 April 2004: Pub@Hub
      "Pub@Hub" business networking event with the Managing Director of 3M South Africa (Pty) Ltd, James Marshall, who spoke on the issues that influence and drive the innovation process in successful international companies. James considered the specific issues that companies - both large and small - need to focus on in order to successfully match new, marketable ideas with customers before anyone else. The prize sponsor for the "lucky draw" of the evening was also
      3M South Africa (Pty) Ltd.

    • 6 April 2004: Free Venture Capital Financing consulting and advisory services
      Free Venture Capital Financing consulting and advisory services introduced exclusively for members of The Innovation Hub's INNOV8 community in terms of a partnership with Triumph Venture Capital. A specific focus of Triumph's partnership with the Hub is to assist entrepreneurially driven small and medium sized South African companies to develop and exploit their intellectual resources through the provision of venture capital financing.

    • 17 March 2004: SevN Days
      Launch event of the SevN Days programme of interactive business seminars for members of the INNOV8 community in partnership with FuTioN - one of The Innovation Hub's Knowledge Partners. SevN Days is being provided as a free valued-added service for members of the local hi-tech and knowledge-intensive community. It is intended as a series of highly interactive short seminars aimed primarily at sharing insights into the key business management and strategic decision-making principles that innovators and entrepreneurs require to be able to either launch, or accelerate, their businesses into the future. The seminars are designed to assist members of the INNOV8 community to "boldly charter new business opportunities and to truly realise the potential of their ventures".

    • 10 March 2004: P•O•W•E•R Breakfast
      "P•O•W•E•R Breakfast" business networking event with guest speaker Wellington Chadehumbe, CEO of Triumph Venture Capital, who gave a fascinating talk entitled "Raising Risk Capital and Making it Work for You".

    • 26 February 2004: Pub@Hub
      "Pub@Hub" business networking event with successful serial entrepreneur and Founder and Director of nFOLD (Pty) Ltd, Sandra Pullinger, who used this event to share exclusively with members of the INNOV8 community the findings of, and implications arising from, a unique "software survey" that she conducted in June 2003. Sandy discussed software trends across eight different industries (including communication, construction, finance, manufacturing, retail, services, transport, wholesale). The prize sponsor for the evening was FuTioN, which specialises in supporting companies in hi-tech sectors survive tough market conditions by repositioning them for future success.

    • 5 February 2004: P•O•W•E•R Breakfast
      "P•O•W•E•R Breakfast" business networking event with Paris-based Harald Horgen, CEO of The York Group, whose talk - entitled "Going Global - How to sell your product successfully and avoid mistakes when expanding internationally" - provided a valuable perspective on an issue that members of the community had previously indicated to be of particular interest.
