It is always sad when one comes to bid farewell to a fellow colleague but for the staff of The Innovation Hub Management Company when saying farewell to our CEO, founder and 'father' of The Innovation Hub it was particularly sad. Not only was Dr Comins responsible for creating and founding The Innovation Hub but through fond memories the audience was given insight into a life of service, dedicated hard work, absolute integrity, a fondness for taking up the challenge, thinking outside the box and generally having fun by colleagues from previous positions within the CSIR. Dr Comins will be remembered and respected within GPG, Blue IQ and The Innovation Hub for his tireless effort in placing a Science Park at the tip of Africa, successfully gaining its accreditation to the IASP and motivating the first African World IASP conference to be hosted by The Innovation Hub in 2008. We bid farewell to our CEO, mentor and friend and we wish him well with his future endeavours knowing full well that retirement for our "Dr. Chuckles" is still a long way off!
