The final results of the International Association of Science Parks (IASP) World Conference's Call for Papers process were confirmed at the most recent sitting of the Conference Steering Committee (CSC), held at The Innovation Hub in April.
More than 20 countries are represented in the presentations that will be made during the Conference. In addition to the keynote and other five invited speakers, the IASP has accepted 63 Papers from the Call - 55 for oral presentation and publication, and eight for publication only. Of those accepted for presentation at the Conference, 15 Papers will be presented in what is referred to as 'Flash' sessions. This is another first for the IASP's World Conference and it affords authors of presentations that would have only been included in the Conference Proceedings, the opportunity to present to an audience.
The finalisation of the Call for Papers also draws to a close the process of compiling the Conference's scientific programme. The update of the Conference Programme, which consists of five plenary and seven parallel sessions, is available on the Conference website.
Other highlights of the Conference include the establishment of the IASP's Africa Division and the election of its related President; an impressive Opening Session - which includes addresses by the South African Deputy-President and the Minister of Science and Technology; and a number of ground-breaking paper presentations from emerging economies such as Brazil, India, Croatia, South Africa, and Zimbabwe.
Dr Ramesh Mashelkar of the Global Research Alliance, Dr Nick Segal - Extraordinary Professor at the University of Pretoria's GIBS (Gordon Institute of Business Science), and Yingli Liu - Executive Vice Mayor of Shenzhen, China are among the invited speakers.
With enrolments to date from over 30 countries around the world, the 25th IASP World Conference promises to be an exciting and worthwhile experience.
