Hub seen as a role model Science Park in Africa

The Rector of Polytechnic of Namibia, Dr Tjama Tjivikua, visited The Innovation Hub in February this year, accompanied by the Director of Planning and International Relations, Ms Neavera Olivier.

Polytechnic Namibia is planning to establish a technology incubator at the institution. The purpose of their visit to Hub was to look at the successful implementation of the Science Park concept, and look at the business incubation process adopted by the maxum Business Incubator.

Hub CEO, Dr Neville Comins, and Tsietsi Maleho, Corporate Affairs Manager, received and hosted the visitors, who showed a keen interest in working with the Hub in establishing their own Incubator.

According to Dr Tjivikua, "The Innovation Hub is regarded as a science park role model by SADC countries, and it will be an honour for Polytechnic Namibia to work with the Hub". He also invited Dr Comins to be a guest speaker at the Polytechnic Namibia Graduation Ceremony in Namibia in April this year.

Dr Tjivikua and Ms Olivier visited three of the start-up companies currently participating in the incubation programmes at the Hub, namely TeleZer0, Mohwiti Technologies and TMI Consulting.
