Leading nutrition company, Ultimate Sports Nutrition (USN), has added a refreshing non-carbonated slimming drink, LeanR, and a high-performance energy drink, EnerG to its innovative product range.
USN relocated its head office to the Enterprise Building at The Innovation Hub in January this year. As the first globally benchmarked Science Park in Africa, The Innovation Hub offers residents a range of value-added services aligned to global best practice, creating an ideal environment for this leading edge company.
USN Public Relations and Marketing Manager, Carel Bosman, says "The Innovation Hub provides brilliant facilities for young, smart, growing businesses. Although we were the first tenants to move into the Enterprise Building, our security, air-conditioning, parking and other needs were immediately taken care of. In addition, we are able to interact with other entrepreneurs and like-minded individuals through the Innov8 network."
USN's product offering has grown from one to over 50 products in just five years. Bosman says the demands of modern day lifestyles will keep them in business well into the future. "Most people do not have or plan the time to eat correctly or get enough exercise. USN is well poised to take advantage of the modern quest for improved human performance," he says. "The company has developed a range of nutritional supplements that draw on the world's leading scientific research to help consumers reach the ultimate fitness levels and at the same time enjoy the benefits of a healthy lifestyle."
Endorsement of the products by some of the country's leading celebrities and sports stars has successfully created aspirational value for the brand. USN's products are scientifically formulated by incorporating the latest scientific research findings from the world top universities and sporting institutes.
The company also encourages feedback from consumers regarding the effectiveness of its products. Bosman says "We'll always be quality driven and that in return ensures results and therefore sales. Feedback from consumers enables us to continually come up with new products and improve on existing ones."
Raw materials are sourced from around the world and mixed in pharmaceutical laboratories locally according to formulae developed by USN's global team of scientists. USN is currently building infrastructure in Almere Holland similar to USN SA. As Bosman explains, "USN is a South African company, but it makes little sense to import raw materials, mix them in South African laboratories, and then export them to other countries. Instead we'll be serving the rest of the world from the USN Holland branch."
He added: "The Innovation Hub and USN show strong synergy ... it seems like the sky is the limit."
