Where smart is – is where Smart Young Mindz are
The Smart Young Mindz Alumni Club is a development CSI initiative of BlueIQ Investment Holdings that aims to keep track of the annual SYM winners in terms of their progress in school. As a member of the Alumni Club, learners are offered an opportunity to be exposed to different activities geared to expose them to the world of science and technology. The association members remain ambassadors of the competition for the remainder of their school years.

vA success story out of CoachLab
CoachLab is a leadership development programme for post-graduates managed by The Innovation Hub. It was established in 2001 and has successfully graduated 86 students to date. Gosiame Tshetlanyane is one of the students who completed the programme in 2006. Born in Soweto, he completed his studies at The University of the Western Cape and proceeded into CoachLab.

A Word of Gratitude…
The Innovation Hub extends a word of appreciation and congratulations to the companies that supported and contributed to the success of the 2008 Cell-C Take a Girl Child to Work Day initiative.

There is a need for small and medium entrepreneurs to access information and finance in order to enhance their own personal skills and to ensure the success of their enterprises.


Women’s Month focuses on Women’s Empowerment
The Maxum Business Incubator has embarked on regional workshops for SA women in the ICT sector. These women include:  those that already own an ICT related business and those interested in starting-up an ICT-enabled business. These workshops are being held this month in Pretoria, East London and Cape Town.

Blue Apple Branding Consultancy & Design Pty Ltd takes BioPAD to another level
Blue Apple Brand Consultancy & Design Pty Ltd has broken away from the Badiri Technologies joint venture to pursue its core business focus, that of brand consultancy & design. They have since signed a 24-month contract with a company based in The Innovation Hub, BioPAD.

The Research Institute for Innovation and Sustainability takes up occupancy at The Innovation Hub
The Research Institute for Innovation and Sustainability (RIIS) is the latest addition into The Innovation Hub occupancy, since the beginning of July 2008. They were previously based at the CSIR campus. The business consists of two female director’s and a team of experts service provider’s. RIIS’s client base consists of, amongst others, the Gauteng Shared Service Centre (GSSC); ESKOM ; SANLAM, GROUP 5 and COFISA.
